OVERVIEW
We’re looking for a passionate leader to guide and grow a thriving community of college students and young adults (ages 18–28). This role isn’t just about managing programs—it’s about building relationships, developing leaders, and creating a culture where young adults can explore faith, ask honest questions, and discover their purpose in the context of a Christ-centered community.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Some of the primary duties include:
- Leadership
- Partner with Grow Team Lead, to establish departmental goals and objectives by prioritizing related programs, managing the use of facilities, planning an appropriate budget, delegating tasks and evaluating progress regularly.
- Recruit, equip and encourage volunteers for leadership in CYA (College and Young Adults).
- Ensure that spaces used reflect a safe, professional, Christian environment.
- Plan and supervise weekly gatherings on campus and in the community/area, regular serving opportunities in the community, conferences, retreats and events.
- Pastor CYA community and work to connect them to the larger church family and Weekend Services.
- Gather
- Oversee GATHERING Program for CYA (18-28).
- Connect students from Tuesday Night Gatherings to Alpha/Rooted/Life Groups.
- Teach as requested/needed.
- Support implementation of logistics, registration, budget, promotion and communications of program.
- Manage the Gathering Calendar.
- Oversee series selection, Student/Leader curriculum and format
- Verify staff and program quality.
- Set and define program “Wins”.
- Oversee GATHERING Program for CYA (18-28).
- Grow
- Oversee GROUP LIFE Program for CYA (18-28), goal for 50% of CYA to participate in a Life Group.
- Support implementation of logistics, registration, budget, promotion and communications of the Group Life Options for CYA.
- Manage the Group Life Calendar.
- Align program with Friends Church Discipleship Vision and Strategy.
- Participate in Grow and Group Life Trainings and All Church Series.
- Recruit Leaders and coaches for 3 group launches a year.
- Set and define program “Wins”
- Develop and evaluate Group Life Ministry goals with Grow Team Lead.
- Go
- Provide regular/monthly local and service opportunities and one global opportunity a year.
- Partner with Guest Services and Special Event Director to provide opportunities for CYA community to exercise their gifts throughout the church.
- Additional Functions
- Attend and participate in required Friends Church staff meetings, events, programs, and training that professionally develop the marketing and communications team.
- May conduct weddings, funerals and baptisms when commissioned.
- Participate in Rooted, Alpha, or other, all-church Group Life series annually.
- Attend staff meetings, retreats, and conferences; keep current in related field.
- Cooperate with the Grow Team by performing any other duties when assigned or instructed.
- A personal and active relationship with Jesus Christ, living a Christ-centered lifestyle.
- A strong commitment to the mission and values of Friends Church.
- A commitment to regularly attending Friends Church on weekends, participating in a Life Group, and giving.
- A bachelor’s degree in related field and a minimum three to five (3-5) years’ experience in student ministries; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with a proactive and solutions-oriented mindset.
- Must be commissioned through FSW.
- Outstanding communication, both verbal and written
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to understand, teach, and live out biblical truths.
- Ability to comprehend written and oral information and to express written and oral information with clarity.
- Ability to travel, work nights, weekends, and holidays as requested.
- Detail-oriented and organized. • Excellent time management when working under pressure
